A rather big theme for a small hook
A whole universe made with crochet? The University of Kansas is inviting its campus community to help build a collaborative artwork with stars, planets and other space-inspired pieces. Its published calendar includes a session on 29 October 2026, followed by further dates into 2027.
Different starting points can belong together
The event description welcomes people picking up a hook for the first time as well as experienced makers. A shared project can give small contributions a purpose without asking every person to make the same thing. It is a campus-community activity, not a local workshop booking offered by this website.
Bring the idea into your own practice
Give a spare sample a simple theme: a circle could suggest a planet, while a colour palette might suggest a night sky. Record the stitches you used rather than copying another artist’s finished design. Our flat-circle guide is a separate learning exercise, and the illustration on this page is our own imagined yarn-space scene. Use the university calendar for up-to-date event arrangements.
