A date for the Manchester diary
Imagine a day where bringing a half-finished crochet project actually makes sense. TexStyle’s organiser has announced 5–6 March 2027 at Manchester Central, with opening hours of 10am–5pm. Crochet sits alongside other textile crafts, and the programme includes demonstrations, galleries, talks and bookable workshops. There is also a making space called the Hive. These are organiser-announced plans, not a report from a visit.
You do not need a giant shopping list
A good craft day can be about noticing things. How does a maker combine two colours? What makes an edge look tidy? Which texture makes you want to pick up your hook? Take a small notebook and choose one thing you would like to understand better. You can come home with a new idea without deciding you need every tool in the building.
If you are new to crochet, look for a session that actually says beginner. A demonstration is something you watch; a workshop usually means taking part. Check which sort you are booking and whether materials or a suitable hook are provided.
Plan the useful bits first
- Check the current admission price and whether a workshop needs a separate booking.
- Read the venue’s travel and access information, including any requirements you want to ask about.
- If you are a younger maker, plan the visit and workshop rules with your parent or carer.
- Leave room for a sit-down and a snack rather than trying to race through everything.
The event listing is a starting point, not live availability. Use our events directory to compare it with a smaller local group, then check the organiser before committing to travel.
